My First WIN

It took 2.5 months, but I finally did it. I won my first freeroll!

It was a private Wass Casino Freeroll with just 215 entrants and many sitters. But a win is a win! It took 2:45 and I won $25, my largest single win amount to date.

I was up early tourny due to a lucky break. I got to doubled up when inexplicably this guy went all-in with T2o and I called holding KK. Mid-tourny, I got crippled down to about 2K in chips when my TT hit a JJ and it flops JTx! When the guy went all-in, I thought about it for a while, but since I had him well covered stack wise, I took a chance and lost.

Was near the bottom with about 45 left and I think I only had about 4BB of chips left. Couldn't steal, couldn't do anything since three of the larger stacks were at my table. I then got some luck with some gamesmanship and passive play at the table.

The largest stack at the table was to my left so when everyone folded to me, holding A4s, I went all-in... no one called and I doubled up. I got to keep my blinds when I was in the BB, then next hand and in the SB I got A4o... everyone else folded so I go all-in again, and again the large stack folds. He's angry now at my steals.

I'm now safe for the moment stackwise but still need to double up again to be inside the bubble of 15.

About 1 orbits later, I get A7s and I bet 2, got 1 caller. Flop was 876 rainbow, I pot bet and won. Very next hand, I get QQ. Two of the larger stacks before me limp in, I go all-in and the big stack to my left calls! He had JJ, flop was QJx and just like that I'm in the top 5.

It's been a great night of freerolls. Right after the win, I played in two freerolls at the same time; finished 18th out of 797, just ITM and 41st out of 192, missed top 15. Since I did so well, I didn't even have a chance to play in a SnG!

It was a mistakes free night except in the tourny I missed ITM when near the end with the short stack, I got too tentative in my play hoping for a better hand and missed 2 pots while holding A8s and JTs on consecutive hands. Without them, I needed to push with A8o and was knocked out.
