If you have read some of my previous posts like here and here. You'll know that I've indiscriminantly wasted (or is that invested?) over $40 of my freeroll winnings into buy-in tournaments without any success.
Well, with my new found confidence in MTT play, and my bankroll up over $80, I thought I'd give buy-ins another go. So I joined the cheapest one I know, The Super Easyroll $100 Guaranteed at World Poker Exchange. The buy-in is $1+$1 and in this tourny there were only 49 entrants; top 9 paid.
Early on, I took a chance with A7s, bet aggressively into a flop QQ7 and got I caller. We checked thru and I lost to pocket tens. I'm down to 1100 in chips so I tighten up.
I only played 2 more hands until the final table. My AKs boards a flush and my stack went up to 4K+. And after a flop of 66x, I called an allin with TT and beat 99; my stack was in the top 3 at over 9K in chips.
At the final table with 1 to go to be ITM, I was chip leader with over 11K when I lost half of it. My QQ lost to AA and I'm down to 4K+ and down to 7th.
I knocked out 5th and 4th places and was the chip leader again and again, I' don't play short handed or heads up right and I ended up 3rd. But it's my first cashin in a buy-in! Woohoo. $12 payout.
